Tom Treasure speaks at Gdansk Cardiosurgical Conference, Poland

Professor Tom Treasure spoke at the annual Gdansk Cardiosurgical Conference in Poland today. The subject of his talk was the Big Aortic Root Study, the background and next steps for external aortic support.

The annual conference attracts around 500 delegates, including cardiac surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists and nurses working in cardiosurgical wards.

New article published in Heart’s Online First

An article by Tom Treasure, Johanna J M Takkenberg, Tal Golesworthy, Filip Rega, Mario Petrou, Ulrich Rosendahl, Raad Mohiaddin, Michael Rubens, Warren Thornton, Belinda Lees and John Pepper called Personalised external aortic root support (PEARS) in Marfan syndrome: analysis of 1-9 year outcomes by intention-to-treat in a cohort of the first 30 consecutive patients to receive a novel tissue and valve-conserving procedure, compared with the published results of aortic root replacement has just been published in Online First on the Heart website. Online First articles have been peer reviewed, accepted for publication, and are published online before being assigned to an issue of the cardiology journal Heart.
